National Guard State Sponsored Life Insurance  
State Sponsored Life Insurance (SSLI) is derived from United States Public Law 93-289, May 24, 1974; Sections 204 and 206 of Title 37, United States Code. The following States' National Guard provides SSLI to their National Guard Associations, sponsorship of the Group Life Plans detailed in their websites.

  • All military occupations are covered including pilots, parachutists, etc.
  • Portability, coverage doesn't end just because you leave active service *
  • Spouse and dependent children coverage available
  • Pays most valid claims or emergency benefit with in 24 to 48 hours of receipt of proof of loss

All active National Guard members of the States' National Guard listed above are automatically provided with $1,000 of Group Term Life Coverage under the Militia Guardian Group Term Life Insurance Plan at no cost to the National Guard member, paid for by the Militia Insurance Trust. Massachusetts National Guard Members
The Welcome Home Bill provides each member of The Massachusetts National Guard an option to have SGLI or any of the six sponsored SSLI Group Life Plans premium reimbursed up to $14.00 per month or $168.00 yearly.

Provides basic group life insurance plan to guard members, lawful spouses and dependant children. Coverage amounts up
to $20,000 for member and spouse and up to $15,000 for dependent children coverage available.
ThMilitia Insurance Trust (MIT) Group Life Insurance Plan
  MBA Group Term Life Insurance Plan  
  MBA was founded by military personnel to help secure the financial future of military families. You are eligible to apply if on your coverage effective date, you are under age 69 and a member of the National Guard and/or a member of the National Guard Association.  
The MBA Group Term Life Policy
  Available for sale for members and spouses under age 50. Plan provides coverage up to $400,000 at affordable rates. In force coverage amounts are designed to remain level up to age 70. .  
  The USBA 10 Year Level Group Life Plan USBA offers Group Life Insurance to Guard Members, lawfully married spouses and dependent children. As an affordable alternative to VGLI, USBA's plans are portable even after leaving the service and through all civilian job changes.

The USBA Smart & Lean 15 Year Group Life
  Coverage available in a full range of benefit amounts, from as low as $25,000 to a maximum of $500,000. You decide the amount that best suits your family's financial needs.

  The USBA 10 Year Level Group Life Plan  
  You decide what you need and how much you can afford. Coverage is available from $25,000 to $500,000 and, although not guaranteed, rates are designed to remain level for the first 10 years.
